A great opportunity for a Senior Crude Trader to join this integrated energy major in London. 

You will be negotiating and concluding market transactions on a spot/term basis to ensure that the crude oil production of upstream affiliates is sold to the best buyer and that the optimal feedstocks are secured for the refining system.
This role offers you unparalleled exposure to the entire commodity trading lifecycle – both physical and financial – through close collaboration with their risk functions, finance, back office and multiple business units.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Maximising the P&L through the trading of physical crude oil
  • Managing price risk exposure on the trading book
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with trading counterparties
  • Negotiating term and spot contracts with producers, refiners and traders globally and providing an analytical assessment to get management approval
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of the crude oil market and energy markets in general
  • Liaising with Refinery Supply to optimise the supply of feedstocks
  • Liaising with Shipping for the chartering of shipping, on spot or term basis
  • Providing decisions
  • Defining and coordinating the strategy of the desks
